Marie Tyrell will be a part of the Sonar: Advanced Music and Multimedia Art festival in Barcelona, Spain, from June 15-17 2006. It will be in a section called Sonar: A La Carte in the multimedia stations pictured above!
Since Barcelona is such an awesome town, I’m incredibly happy to have the film show there.

Taken in Vancouver, on the day they left for their European tour. I was shooting video for John Anderson, an artist-about-town (with fabulous moustacheness I might add).
They were working out new material and waiting for their ride to the airport!
It was pretty neat to hear all the songs without lyrics. Katie was intensely listening and throwing in the odd comment or suggestion. Didn’t get good shots of the rest of the band, as my job was to shoot the right-hand side of the room, while John shot the other way… Drummers, as always, tend to disappear behind their drums, making shooting difficult!

Just finished editing a promo video for Axis Theatre’s Driftwood, a retelling of the story of Pinnochio. They’re the folks behind the insanely successful “Number 14.”
Soon, very soon, the songs will start drifting slowly out of my head.
Honestly, I have been waking up at night singing “Lies, Lies, are quickly recognized, difficult to keep disguised, Lies Lies Lies!” Although it’s a kids’ play, that song would make a great Nick Cave tune.
The vid is for promoting the show for far-flung gigs and tours. Good luck to them!
